jPortfolio v0.1 Released

The first official release of jPortfolio has happened. After a few small preview release which were used by about 20 or so WordPress bloggers, i’ve decided it is polished enough for an official release.

This release has a few more bug fixes in it plus a new feature. The post editors now have jPortfolio buttons for adding your tags! Simply enter the search term or image ID in the psot, highlight it, and press the appropriate button. jPortfolio will take your selection and wrap it up in a quicktag with default settings. The output of the button will be configurable in a future release, but this saves a lot of typing already and helps for when you forget the format of the longer tags like imagesearch. Heck I wrote the darned thing and i’m constantly forgetting the order of parameters :)

Oh and this version also adds the ability to randomize the results of an imagesearch. For your limit value simply specify a negative limit to return that many random images. For example, -3 would perform the search as indicated than display 3 of the returned images at random. An example of this in action is the 3 images at the top of my blog. Yep, thats done with jPortfolio :)

This version is still by no means complete and more features will be added in for future releases. Right off the top of my head theres still Flickr authentication to add in, as well as a latest images feature.
