Coffee Cart Texturing

We finished up the modeling side of our coffee carts today with the exception of a few small details which are optional, but i’ll probbaly do this weekend. Today we started working on learning how to texure our carts using nice imperfect photographs of the cart. We got an introduction to Photoshop and how to use it to straighten photographs, crop them, modify them to remove things from the images like handles and screws and hinges, and stuff, and we also covered color correction so that all our textures are similiar in color temp and what not.

So that is the stage we are on with our coffee carts now. Building the texture maps and texturing the carts. I got most of the outside of the cart done today and should have no trouble finishing up over the weekend. Its very tedious going through because we are not just using one or two generic wood panels for the various panels on our carts, but rather using the specific photographs of each individual panel. Once I have all the texture maps applied i’ll make a second pass through adding procedurals to the image maps to make them a bit more realistic.
