Introducing the Loading Dock

So as briefly mentioned yesterday, our latest project is the loading dock project. For this project we are given an existing model of a small scene containing a loading dock area. Our assignment is to texture and light the scene as realisticly as possible. The scene is to have a weathered appearence.

Sounds simple enough until you see how many surfaces there are, not to mention that the surfaces aren’t really all that well laid out so i’ll have to spend some time redoing surface assignments in some cases.

But its still not so bad. Then the other shoe dropped. It has to be done procedurally. Yep. The whole scene with the exception of a few surfaces which are set aside for signs, mustbe textured using procedural textures and gradients. No image maps. None. Yowsers this is going to be a PITA as they say and i’m not talking about sandwich bread.
