Building Project Starts
Today marked the start of an immense project, called the building project. This project involves us choosing a building from the New York area of Universal Studios, and then duplicating that building in Lightwave. We spend two days out in the park photographing the building and measuring everything we can, and then starting next week we model, texture, and light the building as accurately as possible. Every student must choose a different building, and every detail must be modeled.
The building that I chose to do is Finnegan’s Bar and Grill. I took nearly 300 photographs of the building. Shown below are two basic shots showing the entire building that I must do. Measuring today was a pain in the you know what due to all the tourists around the area. In addition, theres a Blues Brothers performance that happens right accross from my building and my building gets covered with people watching the show making measuring damn near impossible :( For this reason i’m i’m going to try and go into the park early Friday morning before the park opens, before class, and measure what I can. Of course thats going to mean leaving at like 530am :(

I’ll be at the park early as well. I didn’t get any pictures today, and don’t want to fall behind just yet. See you bright and early!

Slacker! :) Hope you get your camera problems squared away. I’ve got so many photos now I don’t even know what to do with them lol. Lots and LOTS of measuring to do tomorrow though.
